ECOTICA Boutique Hotel & Spa sits in the heart of Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica, and the feeling on arrival is immediate: the hum of the canopy, cool air, and the easy welcome of a place built around comfort and nature. The property lies within a 10-acre private rainforest reserve on an active wildlife corridor. Squirrel monkeys and white-faced capuchins travel through the branches, howler monkeys call from deeper in the trees, and toucans, scarlet macaws and sloths are often seen from the pool and gardens. It is wildlife at close range, observed quietly and on its own terms. A creek runs through the property too, its water tumbling over the rocks and filling the gardens with a soft, steady sound.
Accommodations are divided between suites and private bungalows. The spacious, newly upgraded Deluxe King Suite, with its natural-wood king bed, is a romantic choice for a couple or a solo traveller, while the luminous Double Queen Suite suits families or friends travelling together. The freestanding Signature Bungalow offers a private terrace facing the trees; the Premium Bungalow adds a king bed and fully equipped kitchenette; and the Grand Bungalow joins two private bungalows for larger groups. At canopy height, the Master Suite frames a 270-degree panorama of rainforest and Pacific, and the Grand Master Suite, the most spacious accommodation at ECOTICA, offers two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living area and a full kitchen. Each one includes air-conditioning, a large smart TV, Wi-Fi, a coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave, safe and bathrobes.
Breakfast is included and served at La POZA, our poolside restaurant and bar, from 6 to 10 am; La POZA stays open for lunch and dinner until 9 pm, with happy hour from 3 to 6 pm. YOLO Social serves food and cocktails from 11 am to 11 pm, with Foot Pool under string lights. The pool is lined with daybeds and cabanas, the Jungle Spa offers massages, treatments and couples experiences in the rainforest, and a gym and yoga deck complete the day.
An open-air events deck hosts small weddings, proposals and celebrations surrounded by the reserve. Manuel Antonio National Park and the beaches of Manuel Antonio are close by, and tours, private airport transfers and parking are arranged at the front desk. Brief history of ECOTICA
ECOTICA Boutique Hotel & Spa began a new chapter in 2023 with the purchase of the former Byblos Hotel, a longstanding presence in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica. The vision was to renew the property with a distinctive identity, bringing together boutique comfort, spa experiences and personal hospitality while preserving its remarkable rainforest setting.
After extensive renovations, the hotel celebrated its grand opening in 2023 under the ECOTICA name. Renewed accommodations and enhanced facilities introduced a fresh approach to the guest experience, with nature remaining at the heart of the property.
Our 10-acre private rainforest reserve forms part of a wildlife corridor. Squirrel monkeys, white-faced capuchins and howler monkeys move through the canopy, while toucans, scarlet macaws and sloths are regularly observed around the gardens and poolside. We leave the reserve wild, maintaining a natural habitat for the animals that live here and giving guests the chance to appreciate wildlife throughout their stay. A creek runs through the property, and the sound of its flowing water is part of every day here.
Our seventeen suites and bungalows offer a comfortable retreat, with select accommodations featuring private balconies or terraces. The Jungle Spa is an essential part of ECOTICA, with massages, botanical facials and body treatments that invite guests to slow down and enjoy time dedicated to their wellbeing.
Dining and social experiences complete the stay.
