Immerse your group in the Manuel Antonio rainforest. On ten private acres of jungle, our open-air deck becomes your studio, with howler monkeys at sunrise and the trees all around you. You lead the practice; we take care of everything else, from beautifully appointed rooms to meals by the pool.
An open-air deck in the rainforest
The deck sits in the middle of the forest, so howler monkeys and birds are often part of the class.
- An open-air deck in the rainforest for up to 60 people. Part of it is covered, so the session carries on happily through a tropical shower.
- Yoga mats and basic equipment on site.
- Wi-Fi, a sound system with a microphone, and tables and chairs when you need them.
- A bathroom and showers right on the deck.
- La POZA bar next to the deck for fresh juices, water and drinks between sessions.
What a retreat day can look like
You set the schedule. This is how many groups use the property:
- Early morning: practice on the deck while it is cool and the forest is waking up.
- From 6:00 am: breakfast at La POZA, by the pool.
- Late morning: a guided walk in Manuel Antonio National Park (closed on Tuesdays), or free time.
- Afternoon: the pool, a treatment at Jungle Spa, or strength work in the gym, which looks out over the rainforest.
- Late afternoon: a slower practice or meditation on the deck.
- Evening: dinner together at La POZA.
Rooms, meals and a hotel to yourselves
ECOTICA has 17 rooms: 10 suites and 7 private bungalows, spread over about 10 acres of rainforest. Rooms sleep from two to four guests, so participants can share or have a room each, and many leaders like a private bungalow for themselves. Your group can also book the whole hotel for its dates, so the pool, the deck and the restaurant are yours. A full takeover sleeps up to 45 guests.
Breakfast is included in every stay. La POZA, by the pool, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm, with vegetarian and vegan options. Tell us about allergies and diets ahead of time and we will plan the group menus with you.
Spa, park and getting here
Jungle Spa is open every day from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm for massages, facials and body rituals; for a group, book treatments ahead so everyone gets the time they want. Manuel Antonio National Park is a few minutes away, and the beach is close by.
Our private airport transfer between San José and Manuel Antonio costs US$195 each way for up to 5 people; for larger groups we quote the whole group. Our concierge can also book tours for the group.
Questions from yoga teachers
How many people can practice on the deck?
Up to 60. For smaller groups there is plenty of room to spread out.
Is the deck covered?
Partly. Part of the deck has a roof, so you can keep practicing during a rain shower.
Who leads the classes?
You do. You bring your teaching and your program, and we take care of everything around it: the deck, the rooms, the meals and a warm welcome.
Are there yoga mats?
Yes, there are mats and basic equipment on site. Some groups prefer to bring their own.
Can we book the whole hotel?
Yes. Your group can book all 17 rooms for its dates; the whole hotel sleeps up to 45 guests.
Is there sound and Wi-Fi on the deck?
Yes. There is Wi-Fi and a sound system with a microphone.
How much does a retreat cost?
